Rip Current Safety & Beach Yoga Program

The NC Department of Health & Human Services Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is presenting a Rip Current Safety & Beach Yoga program at the Kure Beach Ocean Front Park on Saturday, July 13th. The program is scheduled from 10 AM until 12 PM and is free to attend.  

 

Folks from the National Weather Service and the Kure Beach Ocean Rescue Squad will be providing information and safety tips on recognizing and dealing with rip currents. After the informational session, Salty Dog Yoga & Surf will be leading a yoga lesson on the beach. 

 

The Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will provide ASL Interpreters and assistive listening devices. To request additional accommodations, please contact Christina Bauman, Community Accessibility Specialist, at [email protected] or 910-251-5702.

Ocean Life Project: Beach Walk & Talk (7PM)

Kure Beach Ocean Life Project: Beach Walk & Talk

Sundays, June 9th – August 18th at 7 PM

N Avenue Beach Access

 

Meet Kure Beach Ambassadors on Sunday evenings this summer for an engaging, family-friendly beach walk and educational talk. Topics will include Kure Beach history, beach safety, wildlife education, shell and fossil finding tips, and beach activities for children. Bring your shovels and buckets. 

 

This program is sponsored by the Kure Beach Shoreline Access and Beach Protection Committee. 

Story Time by the Sea

Join characters from Fairytales and Dreams by the Sea at Ocean Front Park for stories, crafts and games. Fun activities for both boys and girls, as well as time for photos with the Princesses. This free event is held Wednesday mornings from 10 – 11:30 am starting June 12th and running through August 14th. Come dressed as your own favorite character to add to the fun. We hope to see you there!
